Assess your project needs
Our first step is to work with you and your team to determine your project’s requirements. We examine the project’s current state and the desired future state and work with you to develop a plan to implement tools and best practices. We take a collaborative approach, in that we involve you and your team in developing and implementing a plan. This ensures that the team adopts tools and changes through the process.
Strategic Planning
Trost Consulting has led strategic planning processes for a variety of organizations. Each process is customized to the client’s specific needs. In some cases, Trost Consulting is involved as project manager, implementing actions from the strategic plan and conducting quarterly reviews to ensure the plan is always a current roadmap for corporate direction. The strategic planning process is adaptable to the situation and each client’s resources.
Project Management
Trost Consulting’s primary focus is providing Project Management solutions during the Planning, Implementation, Monitoring, and Controlling phases of a Project’s lifecycle. Our Project Management services include scope planning and definition through developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project planning through Business Case, Project Charter, and Project Management Plan development, project schedule and work plan development; risk management (see below); budget development and tracking; regular project reporting; assessing and developing records management; and the development of PM tools specific to your organizational needs.
Change Management
Trost Consulting is trained in the Prosci methodology of Change Management, where Change Management is intertwined with Project Management and Project Delivery. Change management is an essential function of project implementation, and in particular where a number of involved stakeholders are greatly impacted. Trost Consulting works with client teams to determine level of stakeholder impact and involvement and develop and implement change management plans.
Risk Management
Understanding the project’s risks are essential to developing a project plan that mitigates risks in a timely and effective way. Working with key members of the project team, we identify and assess risk impact, develop risk response plan, assign action ownership and develop an action plan. After this initial exercise, project risks are monitored on a regular basis, and the risk register is updated. Risk planning is essential in terms of validating budget contingency, supporting project delivery rationale during the business case phase, and determining new risks, and thus refining contingency amounts, as project scope is further defined.
Process Improvement
Most organizations have internal operating processes or procedures. We work with you to map out these processes and determine where efficiencies in the process can be achieved. We then present back to you current and future state documented processes.
Operational Readiness
Near the completion of a major capital projects, the organization readies itself for the organizational change that will impact the organization, such as operating process change, clinical change, new staff, new users, new systems, etc. Trost Consulting has experience in putting together detailed plans for implementing organizational change and ensuring readiness for the operating phase of the project.
Facilitation
Jennifer is a skilled facilitator, whether it is strategic planning sessions, project planning sessions, risk brainstorming and evaluating sessions, conducting team building workshops, change management workshops, delivering team training and orientations, or drawing out best practices and lessons learned for project close-out.
